It's a bit random but I have always loved pansies - they come is all sorts of bright colours and are easy to look after. Also love daffodils and roses.

If you could go on a road trip with any person, dead or alive, who would it be and where would you go?
Ooh, good question.
Well I would go round central Europe to see culture and lakes and lovely things like that, and I would take someone multilingual to understand everything and rich to pay for everything (I am practical)... hopefully I could find this in some decadent poet like Lord Byron? Oooh, or Aleister Crowley, because I'm thinking the man knew how to party. Aleister Crowley - decadent poet and all round outrage-causer, there's someone you want to galivant round Europe with.

Which gods/goddesses do you worship? Is worship the right word?
It is the right word for me, and I have that plurality of belief that a lot of Pagans have in that I'm kind of a pantheist, a duotheist and promiscuously polytheistic all at the same time. Working with an all-encompassing God and Goddess is very often useful for things like seasonal festivals, so I do do that, but I also have favourite deities, as it were, such as Hecate, Artemis, Apollo (the Greek Pantheon is my first choice mostly) but also Isis and some Sumerian deities, they have a lot of particularly ancient powerful vibes. I think cultural identity has a lot to do with what appeals to me - I'm European!

What drew you into the world of Geeks?
I'm a long time Whedon geek, and other TV things - watched anime growing up, read fantasy books, watched geeky movies and have always adored board and card games.
I decided to deepen my Geekery after a breakup left me heartbroken and in need of something distracting, time consuming and with new friends built in! I thank Rebecca (ethuil) for bringing me into that world.
What is your biggest regret?
Not asking to learn the piano as a child. It may not sound like much but I might have had a very different life trajectory if I had had a bit more of a musical background.

Explain to me...what exactly is the attraction of Eurovision? (I have never understood this).
I've written an essay on the subject at my myspace page in 2006, about the music, but it's more the institution as a whole.
1. It's about being European as a cultural identity, and identifying yourself as feeling more aligned with what's across the channel as opposed to the Atlantic.
2. It's often camp and it makes no apologies. It's about a culture of pride and not shame, about self-expression in the face of cynical boring people who tell you to be quiet, wear sensible shoes and put the feather boa down.
3. You can be a diva. You can be funny. You can be stupid. You can be retro. If it's entertaining it's allowed.
4. I saw a great preview show talking about how it's the most watched thing in the world, and you're sharing the same moment with 300 million people, which is pretty awesome.
It's undiluted joy and celebration in a way that absolutely nothing else in this world could hope to be.
